Engineer Tammam Raad, Minister of Water Resources, toured the project to rehabilitate the drinking water network in and around Khanasir village in Aleppo countryside, which irrigates more than 10,000 people, and several other projects in the countryside of the governorate.
In a statement to reporters, Minister Raad stressed that the projects carried out by the ministry are vital to help secure and support the people in Aleppo governorate, rural and city, and provide the best services to the people.
Minister Raad also inspected the water pumping station project in Tel Hasel in the Aleppo countryside at an abundance of 4 cubic meters per second, which is a vital project in economic and environmental terms, as it provides water at a rate of 1 cubic meter per second for the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar, which is in its final stages.
The Minister of Water Resources also inspected a project originating from Assad, "the joint station in Maskana", which is the main pumping station for this important economic project, which irrigates 18,000 hectares.
Minister Raad was also briefed on the reality of the maintenance work taking place at Al-Babiri pumping station, which irrigates 34,000 hectares of the Maskana project, which pumps about 96 cubic meters per second, and is one of the largest mega projects in the region.
The reality of the Khafsa pumping station “the fourth project” was also inspected to see the readiness of this project in securing drinking water for all residential communities along the project line.
The engineer, Anas Abu Dan, Aleppo Water Director, explained that the project to irrigate the town of Khanasir and its surroundings with water is a strategic and important project that is being contracted with the General Company for Water Projects, pointing out that the implementation period is six months and that the completion rate so far exceeded 30 percent.
Engineer Abu Dan pointed out that the rehabilitation of the fourth project in the treatment plants in Khafsa is taking place in an optimal manner, and that this project pumps its maximum capacity to the city of Aleppo, and work will be developed in it in the future to increase the amount of water reaching the whole of Aleppo, rural and city.
Hussain Diab, Governor of Aleppo, member of the leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party branch, Uriah Haj Ahmed, Director of Agriculture, Engineer Radwan Harsoni, and President of the Farmers' Union in Aleppo, Eng. Abdo Al-Ali participated in the tour.
