Fuerza Popular, the party of the candidate for the presidency of Peru, Keiko Fujimori, announced on Thursday that it will send to international organizations all the documentation that it claims to have already presented to the Peruvian electoral authorities.

Luis Galarreta, vice presidential candidate for Fuerza Popular, said they will present the documents “as a political organization both to the Organization of American States, to the Democratic IDEA, which is the democratic initiative of former presidents, to the Ombudsman's Office and also to the European Union. ».

  • With 100% of the minutes counted, Castillo is ahead in the presidential elections of Peru

In a press conference, Fujimori reiterated that there are "clear complaints of irregularities, of manipulation that has been planned by members of Peru Libre," referring to the party of Pedro Castillo, his opponent in the second round of the presidential elections in Peru. June 6.

The National Office of Electoral Process (ONPE) finished counting 100% of the electoral records that give Castillo 50.125% and Fujimori 49.575%, a difference of just over 40,000 votes. But the National Elections Jury (JNE) said that it will announce the official results, and therefore the winner of the elections, when I finished solving the requests for annulment sent to that instance.

Popular Force denounced an alleged "table fraud" and has submitted requests to annul polling stations where the majority of the votes benefit Pedro Castillo.

Fujimori does not accuse the electoral authorities represented in three institutions (ONPE, JNE and Reniec, National Registry of Identification and Civil Status, which administers the electoral roll).

Instead, it accuses the Peru Libre party of wanting to manipulate the voting at the polling stations where the votes that are later recorded in the electoral records are counted and that are later entered into the ONPE's computer systems.

It is the first instance of one of the electoral bodies, the JNE, which reviews the requests for annulment of polling stations filed by Fuerza Popular.

Virgilio Hurtado, a lawyer specializing in electoral law and part of the Fuerza Popular team, said that 946 requests for the annulment of electoral records were entered but that 200 have been notified inadmissible for being untimely.

Hurtado pointed out that "if they wanted to give prevalence to the constitutional principles," the JNE should not "take as an argument the inadmissibility due to extemporaneity, because the importance of what is being discussed is of greater relevance for all Peruvians, all Peruvians have the right to know if their vote counted or not ”.

The JNE extended the deadline for the presentation of requests to annul the voting of the polling stations that expired on Wednesday, June 9;

however, he later terminated it.

Lourdes Flores Nano, from the Popular Christian Party (PPC), former congressman and presidential candidate, who has joined Fujimori's team as a lawyer, asked the JNE authorities to review the requests for the nullity of tables in the first and second instance, to investigate thoroughly with the complaints and request the information from the rest of the electoral bodies (ONPE and Reniec) in order to have the information that allows them to resolve their requests.

One of them, as Flores pointed out at a press conference this Thursday, is the request that the signatures be verified in 800 or 900 minutes because they consider it strange that in a record there is a false signature that, according to the lawyer, would exist because it conceals something that happened at that table and that was improperly reflected in that record.

He added that this has to be analyzed by the JNE.

Flores added: «I believe that this has occurred, and that has produced a distortion in the electoral results.

I am among those who believe that Mrs. Fujimori has won at the polls and that as a result of these distortions the electoral result has been distorted, and yet that is my personal opinion… Gentlemen, electoral authorities, assure us what the result is ».

Castillo has not responded to the latest accusations by Fuerza Popular, but at the beginning of this week he said: “Things continue to be stigmatized, they continue to call for other spaces to want to overturn an election, but for our part they will not do it.

The ONPE has not responded directly to Fuerza Popular, but as an institution it has been very active in social networks, promptly responding to the complaints of ordinary citizens about alleged fraud and contrasting any statement with the transparency data that it publishes on its website, where the minutes can be seen one by one.

Jorge Salas Arenas, president of the JNE, has rejected the accusations of irregularities as soon as these affirmations began to emerge after the second round, pointing out, for example, in an interview with RPP Noticias that one must "have enough elements" to talk about electoral fraud, something he claimed to believe exists only in "someone's feverish imagination."
