The former head of government of Mexico City Miguel Ángel Mancera spoke to CNN about the preliminary report to determine the causes of the collapse of an elevated section of Metro Line 12 - on May 3 - that caused the death of 26 people. Line 12 has a history of irregularities in its construction, operation and maintenance since its inauguration in October 2012, the year in which Mancera came to govern the city. Prior to the recent tragedy, this line suspended its operation in different sections in 2014 and 2017. The also PRD senator spoke with CNN about the failures that this line presented during his mandate and assures that the problems it addressed in 2014 had to do with a possible train derailment.
