Moosburg

- When it rains and frosts, cyclists can fall badly: between the pedestrian traffic lights on Grabensepperlweg and the intersection with Bahnhofstrasse, the local thoroughfare is in a very poor condition. Because the former state road running through Moosburg was downgraded to a local road in June 2020, the maintenance burden now lies with the municipality, explained Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW). A change in the area as part of the redesign of the inner city is not to be expected so quickly. Therefore, the road should be paved there for the time being.

Third Mayor Michael Stanglmaier said that asphalt would not go so well with the postcard romance of the city center.

Wouldn't it be better to lay the same sawed granite pavement, as was planned in the course of the redesign of the inner city on the “plan”?

"It is a waste of money if you first pave the way and then tear it up again later," said the Green City Council.

Building authority manager Herbert Held held against it.

There are more important areas in the old town - such as Am Gries - that should be paved with granite as soon as possible.

Ultimately, it is also a question of money.

The cost of the asphalt pavement is about 60,000 euros.

Another suggestion from Stanglmaier was included in the resolution proposal: could the encirclement not also be extended to the intersection area on Bahnhofsstraße?

Then cyclists could safely come down the Setzbräuberg.

The members of the building committee unanimously gave the green light to the renovation.

In Moosburg, not all builders can build as generously as they want.

In the most recent building committee meeting there was criticism of many plans.
