At its most recent meeting, the municipal council decided to open the path as a hiking trail only for pedestrians as well as forest and agricultural vehicles.

With this, the committee wants to avoid conflicts between cyclists and families who are on the nature trail there. As reported, the community has created a forest adventure trail between the Alpengasthof Glück Auf and the Almbad Huberspitz, which is aimed primarily at families with younger children. Part of the nature trail leads over the serpentine path. So far, pedestrians and mountain bikers have been allowed to use it together - which, according to the administration, has repeatedly led to conflicts. According to the law, mountain bikers are to blame for this: They have to allow pedestrians to walk on private paths, adjust their speed and, if necessary, dismount.

The fact that there were still conflicts now counts as the important reason that the law requires to be able to block paths for some users.

The owners have agreed to the blocking.

The municipality will now put up the appropriate signs.

Mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG) emphasized in the local council that the blockade was not directed against mountain bikers.

These are very welcome in the Huberspitz area.

“I think we all agree.” But this trail is intended for hikers and families and families.

It is too narrow for double use.

“We don't want to shut anyone out, but there's no other way in that area.” Children who concentrate on the stops along the way shouldn't have to worry about cyclists.

Zangenfeind wants to create alternative offers for mountain bikers.

The mountain bike concept, which the municipality has been working on with the Alpine region Tegernsee Schliersee (ATS) for a year, is a step towards cooperation that is not characterized by prohibitions.

It's about routes and the corresponding signage.

In four to five weeks he wants to invite forest owners to include their ideas.

"Mountain biking is part of the leisure time and the use of paths that are wide enough," explained the mayor.
