In a summit with the management as an excuse but that unleashes all kinds of speculation towards the elections, Zulemita Menem visited Alberto Fernández in the Quinta de Olivos, after the President offered her to

be a candidate for national deputy for La Rioja.

The meeting this Wednesday night was confirmed by

Zulemita herself through her social networks

and generated a stir since, in the final stretch facing the closing of the list by the PASO, the daughter of the former president must define whether to the 50 years old, she follows the path of her father and launches herself into the political arena as a candidate for deputy, after several threats and rejecting several proposals, including one from Macrismo, in 2019.

The photo also takes another boost after Zulemita told him about the proposal that the president extended to him in April: "Alberto offered me to be a candidate before my father's illness," he blanked.

However, this Wednesday Zulemita moved as a leader and drew up a meeting to bring positions closer to local politics in La Rioja.

"In memory of my father Carlos Menem I will always be next to my province so that it can shine again

,

" he

wrote on his Instagram, almost with a campaign tone.

Then he expanded: "I generated the meeting between the president, Alberto Fernández, and the vice-governor, Florencia López, as well as with the mayor Inés Brizuela and Doria, from Juntos x el Cambio."

And he posted four photos of the meeting.

Alberto Fernández received Zulemita Menem and the Deputy Governor of La Rioja, Florencia López.

Given the criticism and repercussions on the summit, Zulemita made a discharge on his Twitter account, although he did not clear up rumors: "I read some opinions about my meeting with the President and the possibility that it gave me to approach the mayor of my province (radical of Together for Change) and the vice-governor (Peronist). Remember, the most important legacy that Menem left us was the search for peace and national unity. "

Indeed, the presence of the changemaker Brizuela y Doria occurred in the midst of a context of strong differences with the provincial Executive, aligned with the Government, and qualifies the versions of an alleged candidacy of Zulemita.

"Thank you President @alferdez for receiving me and putting your ear in our Riojan people. Thank you @zulemitamenem for your generosity and commitment to your land," said the mayor of the Riojan capital in her networks.

Clarín

tried to contact the daughter of the former president to ask about the meeting with Alberto and his candidacy, but did not receive a response.

The national government avoided making comments about it,

but neither did they deny the proposal that, according to Zulemita, Fernández made.

The vice-governor of La Rioja, Florencia López, thanked Zulemita Menem for the meeting with Alberto Fernández.

Strictly speaking, Zulemita had said last October, before her father's death, that she was going to be a candidate outside the crack.

"I am going to play alone, I am not going to be with anyone who is in the extreme," he

announced on his Twitter, announcing his "real vocation and certain will to do politics in the province of Buenos Aires."

He claimed to have "an offer from people from the federal party and many Buenos Aires comrades willing to accompany."

Carlos Menem with his daughter Zulema in the 2020 Legislative Assembly.

But in recent months he decided to focus again on his province, La Rioja, and flirts with the possibility of playing for the PASO in September.

In fact, in an interview with La Nación, he conceded that he spoke that he spoke of the possibility with his father "in his last days."

"Through the land where we were born and grew up:

we spent a large part of our lives, childhood and adolescence in La Rioja, we never stopped going; in fact, my children feel their heart from La Rioja," he said.
