At least 17 people were killed when a passenger bus fell into a mountain valley in southern Peru.
Reuters quoted the Peruvian authorities as saying that the accident occurred in the mountains of Lucanas province in the south of the country, where the bus fell into a ravine about 200 meters deep, killing 17 people and wounding 19 others.
Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident, as the driver is believed to have lost control of the bus in a bumpy area.
According to official statistics, 3,110 people were killed in traffic accidents in Peru in 2019.
