After dirt and vandalism, the Anglers' Association blocked the northern access to the Eichsee.

The move upset many large hamlets.

Now the gate is gone.

Also because the community will send construction yard workers.

Großweil

- The disc of the power cutter rotates, sparks are sprayed. A "pling" and the padlock on the wooden gate that the Anglerbund Isaria Munich had attached to the fisherman's hut a few weeks ago is gone. You don't need it anymore. The gate is hung up, the northern access to the Eichsee is free again. A clarifying discussion made this step possible. And a promise from the community.

Jürgen Hucul goes to the footbridge at Eichsee, the view of which attracts so many people, to swim, take photos, rest.

A couple of towels can be discovered on the lawn on the opposite side.

Splashing in the water, voices on the bank.

In the end, the many people became a problem.

Or those who don't follow the rules.

Therefore the Anglerbunds Isaria Munich, whose chairman is Hucul and who has leased the fisherman's hut on Eichsee, blocked the access next to the house and thus to the jetty.

This met with a lot of displeasure in Großweil.

But the anglers didn't know what else to do.

With his deputy Prof. Dr. On this sunny day, Gerd Sutter and fisheries supervisor Frank Tessmer tried to explain the barricade to Franz Xaver Schweiger. Largely second mayor, wants to convince and mediate. He's been coming here for decades, says Sutter. He knows the situation, people bathe and celebrate. “There was always a festival,” he says without objecting to it. But they have changed in the past few years. Vandalism and dirt remained. In addition, there are cars that are parked “board-wide” on the meadow in front of the hut during the day. “No anglers,” says Sutter. The vice-chairman does not want to call the police about parked bathers, who “have better things to do than drive away sunbathers”. The association, which is committed to nature conservation, helped itself.

Understanding of the concerns of the Anglerbund: "People are getting bolder"

Schweiger follows every word and shows understanding for the tenants' situation. But he also refers to the general situation. It is generally not easy, but you have to stick together, especially in Corona times. “People are getting bolder,” affirmed the deputy mayor. In addition, “we are overrun by Munich residents every weekend”. However, Schweiger finds it unhappy that the Anglers' Association is evading the situation in this way, he speaks of going it alone. “You have isolated yourself a bit.” Sutter, on the other hand, refers to what he sees as a clear legal position. "This is not free access here." He regrets that some people do not respect the private property around the jetty. Schweiger also counters with the legal situation. “Fences are generally subject to approval.“But he doesn't want to argue about it, on the contrary. He brings an offer from Mayor Frank Bauer.

He will send construction yard employees over once a week, and they are in constant contact with the district office and the police.

The latter wants to "sensitize again" to the situation at Eichsee.

In view of the flow of visitors to the region, “the Großweiler shouldn't be completely ruined”.

The community and the association are on the same side, as Schweiger emphasizes.

Sutter agrees, speaks out in favor of a collaboration.

Photos on the jetty are allowed, but not for commercial purposes

Hucul quietly follows the conversation for a long time.

Bred briefly to emphasize that you can still take photos on the jetty, even if not for commercial purposes, and that no private bathing establishment should be built.

Instead of being blocked, the club chairman would like a board with rules: What is allowed?

What is forbidden?

He emphasizes that in the future he “does not want to have to carry out vandalism all by himself”.

Schweiger is open and suggests placing both coats of arms on the shield.

Suddenly, Hucul suggests: “Let's let them out and in.” Fisheries overseer Tessmer fetches the power cutter for the lock that strangers have stuck together.

With united forces the men lift the heavy wooden gate from the hinge.

It disappears into the fisherman's hut.

And the hope remains that it will no longer be needed.
