Today, the Damascus Governorate started the removal works of the old Al-Thawra Street bisect (at the extension of the Victoria Bridge site) in preparation for its replacement with a new one that matches the work of rehabilitating the highway as part of its plan to advance the service and road situation in the city.
And the director of maintenance in the governorate, Engineer Ismail Qetifani, said in a statement to SANA’s representative that the workshops removed the middle of the distorted road for the general view, starting from the pedestrian bridge in Al-Bahsa to the pedestrian bridge on Al-Thawra Street, with a length of about 200 meters, to replace it with a new one with lower height and commensurate with the rehabilitation works that included the rest of the extension of the highway, pointing out The workshops continue with rehabilitation work throughout the day.
Qatifani explained that the gardens directorate's workshops moved the palm trees that were present to the Al-Adawi nursery to plant them there until the completion of the work and return them to plant again, in addition to planting other plants and roses, in addition to the directorate of lighting removing old electricity poles and reinstalling new ones and energy-saving lighting devices.
