Daraa-Sana
The fire brigade in Daraa Governorate and the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the people, put out today a fire that broke out in wheat fields in the city of Sheikh Miskin in Daraa countryside.
The head of the Forestry Department in the Daraa Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the fire affected an area of five dunums planted with wheat and was brought under control before expanding towards neighboring fields.
Al-Abdullah called on citizens to be careful and to plow safety lines, especially near streets and main roads, to avoid the spread of fires to agricultural crops.
The area of agricultural crops affected by the fires since the beginning of the current season has reached 707 dunums planted with wheat.
