The first citizens' meeting after the pandemic break went differently than usual.

Instead of individual booths, there was concentrated information from the mayor.

Geretsried - In the largest city in the district, a somewhat different format has actually established itself for citizens' meetings. Instead of a dry statement of accounts from the mayor, citizens can switch between different booths themselves and discuss their concerns with representatives of the administration. But that has changed in times of the corona pandemic. Last year no citizens' meeting could take place, so the city now invited under the given conditions. "Now that the incidence numbers are low, we wanted to do it right away," said Mayor Michael Müller.

On Wednesday he was at a lectern in the great hall of the council chambers.

Next to him sat the department heads of the administration, in front of him some city councilors and around 40 citizens with a lot of distance to each other.

Some had come specifically out of interest in the discussion about the future of the Wolfratshausen District Clinic.

The town hall chief also gave an overview of the many other projects in the city.

He dealt with the applications that citizens had submitted in advance.

Banat Street

The company Krämmel is building a good 770 apartments on the former Lorenz site.

30 percent of these are subsidized, 30 percent are freely financed and 40 percent are condominiums.

The permits have been in place since last year.

“The first construction phase is to begin next year,” reported Müller.

The so-called Geretsried model is contractually stipulated for living space.

"We will initiate an application process to which Geretsrieder can apply as a matter of urgency," said the mayor.

How this should look in concrete terms will be decided in the city council.

Community center

As part of the “Socially Integrative City” project, the municipality is planning to build a stone community center.

The youth center, an event hall and a reading café will be located on the ground floor.

Further flexible rooms are planned on the upper floor.

“It will be a well-rounded thing,” promised Müller.

The introductory decisions had been made.

As reported, the city council has capped the costs to 7 million euros.

Müller: "I hope we can do that too."

Ice rink

The existing ice rink was roofed over and renovated.

The mayor announced that the work “has largely been completed”.

It is currently the turn of the outdoor facilities, which should be ready in July.

Müller: "Some safety-relevant approvals are still pending."

Indoor swimming pool

After the insulation material had burned on the construction site of the intermunicipal indoor swimming pool on Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse, there was apparently another incident.

On the roof there were probably unsecured sealing plates that lifted off in a storm.

The roof was damaged and it rained in.

"There was water damage in the small bathing hall," said Müller.

However, nothing will change on the planned opening date at the beginning of the school year.

"The parking deck will probably be ready a little earlier."

The old indoor pool will no longer be unlocked (we reported).

According to the mayor, the condition is "scary".

The effort to restore the technology would have been considerable after more than a year of pandemic-related closure.

Egerlandstrasse

In the “Neue Mitte” building cooperative and savings bank are building new residential and commercial buildings, including an underground car park.

The city is restoring the public area based on the example of Karl-Lederer-Platz.

Work on the substructure of the surface restoration is to begin in the fourth quarter and the fine-tuning will take place in 2023.

Geretsriederin Lena Gneist would like a drinking water fountain on Egerlandstrasse.

"We'll check it out," promised Müller.

Bohemian Forest Road

"I have been asked that a lot of traffic is turning to the Böhmerwaldstrasse," said Müller.

The prescribed maximum speed of 30 kilometers per hour is often not adhered to.

A traffic measurement confirmed that.

"In the Mobility and Transport working group, we will discuss measures on how we can continue to implement Tempo 30."

Geothermal energy

A drilling rig for the Zokrates research project is currently being built in Gelting, Müller reported.

The companies Enex and Eavor are carrying out the geothermal project at Hofgut Breitenbach, where drilling had already been carried out.

"The city council did not want trees to be felled at the 'Buchberger Zipfel' for this," emphasized Müller, referring to the original plans.

Müller did not want to talk about further details in the town hall, as Eavor is planning an information event for the second half of July.

Train

The planning approval procedure for the extension of the S7 route from Wolfratshausen to Geretsried is currently in progress.

According to Müller, the objections received have been processed so far and some of the answers have already been sent.

“The railway is sticking to its schedule.” At the end of this year, at the beginning of next year, the planning approval decision should be made.

B11 relocation

In harmony with the S-Bahn extension, the B11 near Geretsried is to be expanded to four lanes and relocated to the Schweigwaller slope.

It is listed as an urgent need in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan.

According to Müller, there are over 32,000 cars driving there every day, and this is expected to increase to 50,000 in the next few years.

"It is the busiest section of the federal highway in Bavaria and is heavier than the autobahn," said Müller, emphasizing the need for the expansion.

The main problem is the efficient connection of the B 11 to the junction in Geretsried.

This is currently being worked on.

"I hope that both projects will be realized in the next few years." The city is not a material expense manager.

Flower Street

One of these mentioned nodes can be found in Geretsried Nord.

The intersection of the cycle path with the Blumenstrasse has been criticized many times.

An underpass is not possible there, according to Müller.

"But certainly a long-term solution for the expansion of the B11." Until then, the planned traffic light at the intersection of Blumenstrasse and Elbestrasse should provide a remedy.

An engineering office is currently calculating the link with the traffic light at the intersection of B11 / Blumenstrasse.

“A complex task,” said the mayor.

The tender for setting up the traffic light is planned for the second half of the year.

Tattenkofener Strasse

The application by Lena Gneist and Resi Hart referred to this and another problem area for cyclists.

You want more bike-friendliness in the largest city in the district.

Particularly dangerous: crossing the Isar cycle path with Tattenkofener Straße on Breslauer Weg.

However, solving the problem is not easy as the position is no longer in the territory of the city.

"I would have liked to have had this discussion with the district administrator today," teased Müller.

As reported, Josef Niedermaier canceled at short notice.

But the city is pushing the expansion of the cycle path network.

A separate position in the town hall has been created for the application as a bicycle-friendly municipality.

The tender is running.

Public transport

Horst Haslach called for a better bus connection from Gelting to Wolfratshausen, also with shared taxis.

The town hall chief showed understanding for the problem: “It often happens that you miss the S-Bahn by two minutes.” Müller admitted that he could not make promises at this point.

But he wants to introduce the proposal.

The district is currently revising the local transport plan.

"We will get a Tölz-Wolfratshausen-Starnberg express bus from December every 20 minutes." That is a clear improvement for the citizens.

Karl-Lederer-Platz

"We keep receiving complaints about noise at Karl-Lederer-Platz or that it is a concrete desert," said Müller.

But there are also many other opinions.

He prefers playing children to parked cars.

And: “Karl-Lederer-Platz should be the heart and center of our city.

It has become.

I am happy when the citizens take the place. ”When it comes to noise, a solution has to be found with the residents.

Noise was also the subject of an application on the playground at Neuer Platz.

The city should ensure that this is evacuated at 8 p.m. in the evening.

However, Müller gave him a refusal.

He prefers dialogue.

The district management could bring all those involved to one table.

Culture

"I am pleased that we can resume cultural events." Müller announced that songwriter Willi Sommerwerk will be performing on Karl-Lederer-Platz at the beginning of July. However, major campaigns will not be possible until summer. In doing so, he canceled the planned Festival of Cultures, which was actually planned for the city's anniversary last year. Speaking of the anniversary: "I will propose to the city council not to make up for the 70th anniversary celebration, but to go to the 75th year." Also, whether the summer festival, i.e. the forest summer, will take place is not one hundred percent certain, says Müller. “The landlord has expressed interest. I suspect it will be similar to last year, but that depends on the situation. ”Geretsrieder Jennifer Kübler asked about the cultural autumn."We want to hold on to it if it is possible in accordance with the pandemic," promised Müller. The city council will decide on this before the summer holidays.

Third elementary school

The city is looking for a location for a third elementary school.

The focus here is on the city library and the youth center as a potential location.

The middle between the two existing primary schools would be an obvious choice.

The location near the school center would also be favorable because the middle school is being renovated and expanded.

The two middle school locations are to be merged there.

But the question of a third primary school is a long way off and the location will not be decided today or tomorrow.

Müller described the redesigned city library as a "piece of jewelery".

However, the considerations have to be taken into account, since the area around the Isarau stadium is to be improved and one has to think about the future use of the old indoor swimming pool.

Kneipp basin

Since the exercise course is so well received and the topic of preventive health protection has gained in importance in these times, Dr.

Michael Kling, chairman of the local Green Association, brought a Kneipp basin into play.

This water treading facility could, according to his idea, be combined with a barefoot path.

Müller wants to include the proposal in the sports development plan and talk to his colleagues in Bad Tölz about their experiences.

A Kneipp pool has already been built there in the spa gardens.

New building plans: The city is building a new day-care center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße.

It is uncertain whether this will help.

The care situation is tense.

The porters lack staff.

childcare

Müller called it "the city's eternal subject of suffering". According to the waiting list, there are currently 63 crèche, 77 kindergarten and 27 day care places missing. The situation is unsatisfactory. The city reacted by creating additional seats, but the porters could not occupy all of them because they lacked the necessary staff. Now the city is considering organizing a trade fair to advertise the attractiveness of the location. What exacerbates the situation even more: Because of the pandemic, some parents would still want to wait for their children to start school. "We cannot calculate," said Müller. Left-wing Bundestag member Andreas Wagner suggested that the city itself could run a day-care center to ensure that employees work under collective bargaining conditions. Müller saidhe will bring it to the city council. But “our porters pay according to the tariff”.

Local supply stone

Since the penny market in the building cooperative's building closed, there has been no local supplier in Stein.

A citizen in the congregation reminded them of this.

It was difficult to find a chain store for the 400 square meter area, said Müller.

But the city has no more influence than to stick to its local supply concept.

For this reason, Aldi on Sudetenstrasse was not allowed to expand over 800 square meters.

"Otherwise nothing would have worked for Stein."
