In one respect at least, these regional elections are unlike the six that preceded them;

for once, we will not measure the extent of the sanction vote against the majority in power.

However, never has a party of the president approached a local ballot, which is more than a year before the presidential one, in such a weak position.

We must recognize the tactical skill of the Macronists, who have succeeded in shifting the focus of the campaign;

by directing it towards the sole question of the National Assembly.
