While it was held behind closed doors last year, the prestigious Prix de Diane will reopen its doors to the public this Sunday, at the Chantilly racecourse.
Health crisis requires, only 5000 spectators will be able to attend this 172nd edition.
Far from the usual 40,000 participants, then, but the organizer, France Galop, wanted to keep the spirit of this unique gathering.
“Everything will be smaller this year except the filly race - the Prix de Diane - which is still one of the most important of the year,” commented on France Galop.
In addition, the event remains reserved for a handful of lucky people, the ticket office to access the lawns bordering the tracks showing almost full.
“There were already seats from last year which have been renewed for those who have validated their ticket,” explains the organizer.
The rest left very quickly ”.
Some tickets - with access to the stands - are still available on the site this Friday.
But no ticket office on site will be open on the day of the event.
Until Sunday, 1 p.m., to apply for the contest of elegance on Instagram
But the lucky ones - dressed to the nines and wearing alluring hats - will find the traditional “chic picnic” and will be able to see some celebrities in the gallery, like the couple Tony Parker and Alizé Lim or the Miss France 2015, Camille Cerf. As for the traditional competition of elegance organized each year, the version has been revised. "To adapt to the context, the selection of elegant hats will take place this year exclusively via the France Galop Instagram account," he said. Participants have until 1 p.m. this Sunday to apply.
After a trial gallop at the Jockey Club which was held two weeks ago in the same racetrack, France Galop is delighted to be back with the public to cheer the riders. “It's very pleasant for them because it will be months that they run behind closed doors, which does not necessarily have the same flavor. The spectators will even be able to attend the race of Natsukashi, the filly whose owner is none other than the player of the France team, Antoine Griezmann.
