Iranian citizens residing in Syria flocked this morning to the Iranian embassy in Damascus to cast their votes in the framework of the Iranian presidential elections.

SANA’s camera monitored the electoral process at the embassy, ​​where a number of Iranian citizens pointed out the importance of participating in the elections, as it is a legitimate and patriotic right for every Iranian citizen at home and abroad, while Bashar Nizam Tehrani affirmed that the electoral process is going smoothly within the embassy, ​​which has secured all the necessary measures to facilitate it.

Iranian citizen Habib Kennedy stressed the need for all Iranians residing in Syria to participate in the process of electing the president who represents them and fulfills their hopes and aspirations, wishing his country prosperity and the success of the elections that contribute to strengthening Iran's word and power at all levels.

In turn, Hassan Jamil explained that the electoral process that is being held at the Iranian embassy in Damascus in conjunction with its establishment in various Iranian provinces is witnessing a heavy turnout at the ballot boxes despite the attempts of the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran to thwart the elections and urged Iranians not to participate, but the Iranian people today prove to them the opposite.

And the Iranian Ilham Majidi indicated that participation in the elections is the duty of every citizen, while Bassem Hosseiniya indicated that he went to the embassy to elect the strongest president, according to his opinion, praising the embassy's efforts to facilitate all procedures, indicating that once the voters arrive, the personal data of each citizen is recorded, and then the paper through which he chose is placed. His candidate is in the ballot box.

During his inspection of the electoral process, the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, Mahdi Sobhani, explained in a press statement that the embassy has allocated 8 ballot boxes in several regions in Syria, 4 of them in Damascus, with the aim of facilitating the movement and access of the Iranian community residing in Syria to the polls to cast their votes, calling on all Iranian citizens to participate widely. in the elections and to exercise their role in shaping the future of the country.

Ambassador Sobhani noted the remarkable turnout witnessed by the polling stations, including the one in the Sayeda Zeinab area, pointing to the large attendance of citizens since the first hours. The Iranian was and remains the main source of power in Iran, and with this wide participation in the elections, he proves once again his support for his country and its rights.”

The President of the Iranian Republic is elected by an absolute majority of the votes of the electorate. In the event that this does not happen, the elections are held for a second time on Friday of the following week, with the participation of two candidates who won more votes than the rest.
