DPRK President Kim Jong Un stressed that his country should always be ready for dialogue as well as confrontation with the United States.
During the third plenary session of the Eighth Central Committee of the DPRK, on its third day, Kim reviewed the major changes in the international political arena in recent days, and provided a detailed analysis of the new US administration's political orientation toward Pyongyang and clarification on the appropriate strategic and tactical response and on The direction of activities to be maintained in relations with the United States in the coming days.
Kim stressed "the need to prepare for dialogue and confrontation as well with Washington, especially to fully prepare for confrontation to safeguard our country's dignity and interests in independent development and closely ensure the country's security and peaceful environment are maintained."
Kim reviewed the foreign policy of Pyongyang and the principles of the Labor Party and the government of the DPRK with regard to important regional and international issues, stressing the need to strengthen the strategic position and the effective role of the country and create a favorable external environment through its own initiatives, calling for keeping pace with the rapid changes in the situation and focusing efforts on controlling the situation on the Korean Peninsula .
The Central Committee meeting, according to the DPRK News Agency, discussed all issues of high priority that must be settled before anything else to ensure stability and improvement of people's livelihood and remove any difficulties they may face.
