FIFA confirmed to CNN on Friday that it sanctioned Mexico with a heavy financial fine, in addition to the fact that the Mexican soccer team will have to play its next two official matches behind closed doors, due to the "homophobic chants of its fans" during two matches of Olympic qualifiers in March.
