The 29-year-old defendant is charged with administering medication to patients that have not been prescribed by a doctor and approvingly accepted their deaths.
This denies everything.
Saarbrücken (AP) - On the first day of the trial for attempted murder against a nurse before the Saarbrücken regional court, the 29-year-old defendant denied the allegations.
On Friday, the man read out a nearly 45-minute statement in which he concluded that he had never committed the acts he was accused of.
The German is accused of attempted murder in six cases, two of which involved dangerous bodily harm.
The defendant was employed in the SHG clinic Völklingen in Saarland from the beginning of 2015 to spring 2016 and then in intensive care units in the university clinic in Homburg / Saar in early summer 2016.
There he is said to have administered drugs that were not prescribed by a doctor and approved of their death.
According to the indictment, he wanted to use resuscitation measures to gain “emotional satisfaction and recognition from colleagues and doctors”.
