Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on Iranians to participate widely in the presidential elections to choose who will lead the country over the next four years.
After casting his vote at the Interior Ministry building in the capital, Tehran, Rouhani said, "Iran's enemies want the electorate to be empty, but the Iranians will not fail to fulfill their duty towards their country and will participate massively to choose their representative."
Rouhani stressed that the people's voices will take the correct democratic path to reach its goal, indicating that all electoral processes are conducted transparently and that the vote counting process will be done by accurate electronic methods.
Polling stations in Iran opened this morning for voters to participate in the thirteenth presidential elections, in addition to the elections for the sixth session of the municipal and village councils and the supplementary elections for the Assembly of Experts. It is scheduled to continue until twelve in the evening today, and it can be extended until two in the morning tomorrow, Saturday, in the event that necessity.
