The National Security Department of the police arrested 5 senior officials of Next Media for violating Article 29 of the National Security Law on "conspiracy to collude with foreign countries or foreign forces to endanger national security", and blocked a search on the Apple Daily building.
Among them, Zhang Jianhong, chief executive of Next Media Group, and Luo Weiguang, editor-in-chief of Apple Daily, were arrested this morning (18th) and will appear in West Kowloon Magistracy tomorrow morning.
The remaining three arrested include Zhou Daquan, Chief Operating Officer of Next Media Group, Chen Peimin, Vice President of Apple Daily, and Zhang Zhiwei, Director of Mobile News Platform. They were successively released on bail at 10pm this evening. Luo Weiguang feels sad to be prosecuted and hopes that they can be released on bail.
When Chen Pei-min left the Tseung Kwan O Police Station, he said that he was saddened that his two colleagues, Zhang Jianhong and Luo Weiguang, were prosecuted and were not released on bail.

After being arrested yesterday, Chen Pei-min, Chow Tat-quan and Zhang Zhiwei were taken to Tseung Kwan O Police Station, Western Police Station and Wong Tai Sin Police Station to detain them for investigation.
At about 10 pm tonight, Zhang Zhiwei, accompanied by his wife, stepped out of the police station and boarded a private car to leave; Zhou Daquan also boarded a taxi and left after leaving the police station. The two did not respond to reporters' questions.
Chen Pei-min left the Tseung Kwan O Police Station accompanied by her husband. When she stepped out of the police station, she said that she was saddened by the prosecution of her two colleagues Zhang Jianhong and Luo Weiguang but failed to be released on bail, and hoped that they would be released on bail as soon as possible.
Chen Peimin also said that during the detention period, colleagues of Apple Daily continued to interview and report with their professional posts, and that he was proud and touched "to do my best to do my best."
She said that the police collected bail and detained her travel documents. The details of the rest of the case were inconvenient to disclose. She also said that she would go to court tomorrow to support Zhang Jianhong and Luo Weiguang.
