If there was ever a time to sell a horror house, it is now.
In this wild market, where record low inventory levels and growing demand are pushing home prices higher and higher, you could expect anything old you put on the market to sell.
Mimi Foster, a real estate agent with Falcon Property Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado, decided to put a house to the test.
He listed a five-bedroom home in the Broadmoor Bluffs Estates neighborhood for $ 590,000.
It may seem like a bargain, but the buyer should be careful.
While the house looks fine from the outside and is nestled among houses that normally sell for $ 750,000 to $ 800,000, what to expect on the other side of the front door is vandalism, destruction, animal remains, years of negligence and… a rather strong odor.
"You can honestly smell the smell," Foster said.

But Foster didn't hold back in his description of the house when he listed it Tuesday.

By February 2020, Foster said, the seller was facing foreclosure on the home because she could no longer pay the mortgage.
But once the pandemic hit, a national foreclosure ban prevented it.
The owner tried to work with her insurance company to repair the home and sell it, but the process was slow and not very successful, Foster said.
Meanwhile, as the end of foreclosure protection rapidly approached, the local market was on fire.
"If we could ever put something like this on the market and see if it hits, it's now," Foster told his salesperson.
