Avoid noise.

And: ball games are prohibited.

That's what it says on many of the new signs in the community's public playgrounds.

This caused incomprehension among the Greens in the local council.

Maisach - The new signs have to be installed due to EU law. They are already in place at some of the playgrounds, but have to be obtained for others. The text on the signs was available to the municipal council for information. In addition to the opening times, the applicable rules are listed. For example, the ban on cycling or letting dogs run there - and also a requirement to avoid noise and the ban on ball games. For Hartmut Hombach (Greens), the latter regulations are incomprehensible. "Then children could not celebrate a birthday on the playground." Evi Huttenloher (CSU) explained that the normal noise of playing children was not meant. If toddlers bring a ball, that's okay. Rather, the regulation aims toyouth advisor Peter Aust (SPD) added that older children should not play football on a playground for smaller children.

Barbara Helmers (Greens) nevertheless applied for the passage with noise avoidance to be deleted. Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU) advised against this. The rules of use have been worked out with the residents over many years: "It only says what applies anyway." Changes would have to be discussed with the residents. Ultimately, Seidl did not allow Helmers' motion to be voted on, which was noted in the minutes of the meeting. ad
