An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale hit Istanbul, Turkey, today.
The Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority as saying: "The epicenter of the tremor occurred 7.06 kilometers from the Kartal region."
So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage from the tremor.
Turkey is almost always exposed to earthquakes and tremors because it is located in a seismic activity zone.
