Their way to graduation was anything but routine and caused a lot of discussion: on Friday, the high school graduates received their grades at the three high schools in the southern district.

Bad Tölz / Lenggries / Reichersbeuern

- it was certainly a bit uncomfortable for the students on Friday when they started their way to school for the last time.

The announcement of the Abitur grades was due.

Despite all the difficulties that Corona brought with it, the results are more than impressive.

"We have an overall average of 2.0," says headmaster Christoph Beck from the St. Ursula high school in Lenggries happily.

15 of 47 students cut off with a one before the decimal point, and two of them, Franziska Bürk and Maria-Louisa Metzner, achieved the dream grade of 1.0.

Headmaster: Corona situation has “not at all badly” restricted female pupils

According to Beck, the corona situation would not have restricted the girls “at all badly” in their preparation.

“What was missing was that they couldn't go to party and were only at home.” This time, only the girls and their parents are invited to the high school graduation.

"Otherwise, the entire school, including the younger ones, is always there with us," says Beck.

"Unfortunately that won't work this year."

At the Gabriel-von-Seidl-Gymnasium in Bad Tölz, people are currently waiting for "information from above" for the farewell party, according to upper school coordinator Stefanie Regus.

And Corona also played a constant role during the exams.

"It took a lot of time because we always had to split up into tested, vaccinated and recovered," said Regus.

Despite the "immense organizational effort", everything went smoothly.

“98 out of 111 students have passed so far, but there is still the possibility of a re-examination.

Two students haven't finished yet. ”The overall average was 2.21.

"That is better than last year," reports Regus.

There was also a grade of 1.0 twice, and 15 high school graduates achieved final grades between 1.0 and 1.5.

Much criticized math exams: at the Bad Tölz grammar school, grades are in the normal range

Josefine Altenried is one of them.

The 18-year-old has an average of 1.5 and wants to study medicine.

"But first travel and take a break," she says, because during Corona she lacked the balance to study.

Tobias Demmel is also “very satisfied” with his average of 1.7.

He would probably like to study too and can well imagine himself as a subject teaching chemistry and biology.

On Friday evening, however, the 18-year-old wanted to celebrate with his friends first.

The teachers at the Gabriel-von-Seidl-Gymnasium see differently that the maths tasks were supposed to have been too difficult, which many graduates complained about.

“It's not that it wasn't feasible.

The grades are also in the normal range, ”says Josefine Altenried.

"No high school graduate has to feel disadvantaged by Corona solutions"

At the Max-Rill-Gymnasium in Reichersbeuern, the grades were not worse than usual. Headmistress Carmen Mendez, however, found the math test to be “a bit more difficult”.

Nevertheless, she describes the average achieved by all students of 2.3 as a “classic”.

At the Reichersbeurer boarding school, 21 students took the Abi exams, four of them with a non-German mother tongue.

“There are five students with a high school diploma, the best is a Swiss girl from our boarding school, Lorena Arnold, at 1.3, whose parents live and work abroad,” says Mendez.

Overall, she praises coping with the corona situation in the upper school.

"Very sensible solutions have been found so that no high school graduate has to feel disadvantaged."
