The two technical committees for Sports for All and Chess in As-Suwayda held an open checkers tournament, under the supervision of the Executive Committee of the Sports Federation branch, with the participation of players from various clubs in the governorate.
The championship hosted by Madad Club in Suwayda was won by Kamal Al-Baaini, followed by Marwan Jaafar, Ghazi Chehayeb and Fouad Al-Baini respectively.
In a statement to SANA’s sports representative, the head of the Chess Technical Committee in Sweida, Eng. Rifaat Khader, indicated that the tournament was held in the Swiss league in six rounds and came with the aim of reviving popular games and enhancing cooperation between the two technical committees, based on the importance of spreading this game due to its mental benefits.
