A green school under construction is collapsing in Antwerp, Belgium.
At least one person is killed and nine more injured - one of them seriously.
Antwerp (AP) - When a primary school under construction collapsed in the Belgian port city of Antwerp, at least one person was killed.
Nine other people were injured in the incident in the new district of Nieuw Zuid, eight of them seriously.
They would have worked on the construction site.
The Belgian news agency Belga reported that the search continues for five missing people.
They are probably also construction workers.
The rescue operation will continue into the night, it will probably last the whole day.
Detection dogs are in use, it said.
The large debris was to be cleared aside with special cranes.
Belga reported that a dozen people were rescued from the rubble.
According to the information, scaffolding also collapsed in the accident.
King Philippe expressed his condolences and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
According to Belga, the construction company in charge said they were doing everything they could to find out what happened.
"We're trying to answer all of the questions, but it's too early at the moment."
