The Baghdad Operations Command announced today the seizure and destruction of a nest of ISIS terrorists north of the Iraqi capital.
Alsumaria News quoted Baghdad Operations Commander Major General Ahmed Salim Bahjat as saying: "Based on accurate intelligence, the security forces seized a den of ISIS terrorist gangs containing weapons and ammunition in the Al-Mahamda area, north of Baghdad," noting that the engineering units destroyed the den, including it.
In addition, the Iraqi forces announced that they had thwarted an attempt to blow up an electric power tower north of the capital, Baghdad.
A statement by the Security Media Cell stated that "in light of accurate intelligence information from the Baghdad Operations Intelligence Department, the security forces were able to seize explosive materials and a machine gun in the Islah area, north of Baghdad," noting that the seized materials were dealt with by the engineering effort.
Earlier today, Iraqi forces arrested two terrorists in the center and south of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
