Opinion polls in France showed the right-wing party (National Rally) led by Marie Le Pen ahead of the party of French President Emmanuel Macron, one day before the start of the local elections scheduled for June 20 and 27.
Polls indicated that Le Pen's party is ahead of Macron's center-right Republic on the Move and other left-wing parties in the country.
For its part, the French newspaper Le Parisien said that according to the first round of the poll for the daily Opnion and Comstraat, Le Pen's party leads by 26 to 27 percent of voting intentions, while Macron's party gets 23 percent to 24 percent.
