District - Summer has also arrived in southern Upper Bavaria.

Reason for the President of the Police Headquarters in Rosenheim, Robert Kopp, to appeal to all dog owners: "Do not leave your loyal four-legged friends alone in the vehicle," says the Police President.

"The interior of the vehicle can quickly become a deadly danger for the animals."

Kopp is the proud owner of a white shepherd named Nala.

This is precisely why it is particularly important to him to remind dog owners of the dangers.

After just 15 minutes, if the outside temperature is high, a locked and unventilated vehicle can become a deadly heat trap for animals.

“Unfortunately, this is repeatedly underestimated by many owners,” says Kopp.

In contrast to humans, dogs and cats cannot cool themselves by sweating through their skin.

They are therefore particularly sensitive to heat.
