Today, President Bashar al-Assad sent a cable of congratulations to the elected Iranian President, Ibrahim Raisi, on the occasion of his victory in the Iranian presidential elections.
In his telegram, President al-Assad said: It is my pleasure to extend to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Syrian Arab people, my warmest congratulations on the occasion of gaining the trust of the friendly Iranian people and your victory in the presidential elections. Your country's march towards greater prosperity and progress in all fields for the good and interest of the Iranian people, who are resistant and steadfast in the face of all schemes and pressures aimed at breaking their will and robbing them of their independent decision.
President al-Assad added: I take this opportunity to express to you our interest and our keenness to work with you to strengthen the course of bilateral relations based on long decades of historical friendship, mutual understanding and common interests between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
