Russia has started manufacturing new-generation anti-tank missiles capable of destroying American M1 Abrams tanks, according to the Russian RIA Novosti news agency.
Commenting on the announcement by the Russian state corporation Rostec that Russia has started commercial production of the new 7V2 RPG launcher, the agency indicated that the effectiveness of the new projectiles fired from the “RPG” launcher exceeds the effectiveness of conventional missiles by 30. The thickness of the side armor in modern versions of the American M1 Abrams main battle tank is 650 mm.
The agency stated that tanks of this type were often exposed to RPG fire in many wars, but the capacity of the previously used missiles was not enough to destroy the tank, which would not allow its crews to leave the battlefield unharmed, but this will change if the tanks are targeted with new missiles.
