After former President Mauricio Macri asked for "forgiveness" after referring to the coronavirus as a "slightly more serious" flu, the Chief of Staff of the Nation, Santiago Cafiero, said this Saturday that he never thought that the former president could reach "this

level of cruelty

".

"The

callousness of the former president

does not attract our attention, but we never thought that he could reach this level of cruelty," said the coordinating minister.

In statements to

Radio 10

, Cafiero said: "It is part of the excess of politicization that he always wanted to put the pandemic, the virus and the vaccine. The

excess of politicization left him very much exposed

than he really thinks."

On Macri's phrase, Cafiero added: "

He paints him in full

. That insensitivity he had when he had to drive to the country for four years now shows through his sayings."

Along these lines, he warned that "it is the philosophy of someone

arrogant

for money and power, thinking that it will never touch him," and added: "That whatever has to happen happens, that anyone who can pay for the vaccine is vaccinated. That's the philosophy. "

"He is a powerful and rich man, and he thinks he has access to the best doctors, treatments, that he can go abroad to get vaccinated, and travel the world when we were all here, containing the virus," said the Chief of Staff.

The Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, acknowledged that "the callousness of the former president" Mauricio Macri does not "attract their attention."

Regarding the

vaccination campaign,

Cafiero stressed that

"it has been climbing with great speed

", and highlighted: "This work is a demonstration of the invaluable self-esteem of Argentines, who are not going to let themselves be trampled and are going to get ahead with the vaccine and care ".

"We finished the first batch of vaccine production (Sputnik V) in our country, it must be approved and then they will be able to be applied," said the national official.

In that sense, he indicated that "there are

12 countries in the world

that are

manufacturing vaccines

against the coronavirus and

Argentina is one of those

."

Referring to the massive demonstration carried out this Friday by leftist and opposition social organizations, he considered that "it puts those who attend the demonstrations and third parties at risk."

"There are other mechanisms,

this is a government that listens

. We do not agree with the

massive demonstrations

that have a

high epidemiological risk

," he justified.

He also indicated that the national Executive has "deployed a large battery of tools that reach the popular sectors" with which they try to "provide assistance."

Asked about a possible agreement with the meat sector, the Chief of Staff explained: "The sectors were asked to present a project to move forward to accompany them in the export and local price, an intermediate price."

"We worked very seriously, we tried to remove the media flashes so that we can work without politicizing a sector that is important for the country," he described.

Finally, Cafiero assured that the national government seeks to unblock the conflict without "this having an impact on the Argentine table."
