Schongaus Juze is to become a meeting place again

It can start in the Schongau youth center: From June 21st, Christina Annibalini and colleague Sebastian Kosler will be able to unlock the doors again.

Without a big program, but open to everything, you approach the time after the third corona wave.

Step by step you want to approach everyday life.

Schongau

- It will be a special moment, especially for Christina Annibalini.

Since the beginning of February she has taken over the management of the Schongau youth center - so far not a single day has been open.

Nevertheless, she has already got to know a few.

Because the young people were there anyway, sometimes meeting in front of the closed door of the youth center.

On all channels, Annibalini and colleague Sebastian Kosler tried to keep in touch with the young people despite their distance and lockdown.

Recently, people have often started talking - when they were out and about in town with the tape art dolls.

"The characters often only sat for a few minutes, then someone came by and waved or started a conversation with us," says Kosler.

Register with the Luca app

Normality like before Corona cannot quite return yet, but almost.

The hygiene concept, which has now been completely rewritten, has been approved, and we can start.

"It's quite complex, we always have to look at the current figures," says Annibalini.

But we already know that too.

If the incidence value stays below 50, everything is quite comfortable.

Only with a mask, the distance should also be maintained.

If you then sit at the table together, you can do that without a mask.

"We are also allowed to sell food and drinks," said Annibalini, but would like to wait a little longer with the food.

It is important to register - ideally quite uncomplicated via the Luca app, wishes Kosler, who also offers his help for the installation.

Schongau youth center: flexible program

What many may be happy about: Sports activities are also possible again.

The Juze can use the primary school gym again, and its own key unlocks the soccer field.

Whether basketball, running on the tartan track, street hockey or juggling - everything is theoretically possible.

"It is now up to us to decide how we implement it; every youth center sponsor can adapt it for themselves," said Kosler.

"And with 50 young people I wouldn't go to a gym without a mask either," adds Annibalini.

In spite of all the possibilities, they have not worked out a specific program anyway.

"We are flexible and can conjure a lot out of the hat straight away. Now we have to first check the demand and then we will react," says Annibalini.

But there is a very clear line: Don't go straight to the limit, but wait carefully how everything develops and then proceed “step by step”.

“We want the Juze to be a meeting place again, they should first arrive, then we'll see what we're doing,” says Annibalini.

“Caution and understanding” is what is needed at the Schongau Youth Center

One should not lose sight of the fact that the young people have not (yet) been vaccinated; there, too, one has the responsibility.

"We are an open house, it must now be done with caution and understanding."

Basti Kosler, who has been working at Juze Schongau since September 2019, is looking forward to the first personal encounters in the house.

“I'm incredibly curious to see what happens when we open.” The social workers can imagine both extremes: “Either they storm our house, or nobody comes and we are forgotten, who knows,” laughs Kosler.

And now, of course, summer is also coming, many prefer to meet somewhere outside or at the Lido.

“There is always a summer slump in open youth work,” says Kosler, who is happy at normal times when the house is empty, “because then they have good plans”.

Opening times

The Schongau Youth Center (Juze) is initially always open from Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
