The gendarmerie intervened to prevent a rave party near Redon in Ille-et-Vilaine during the night from Friday to Saturday.
Five gendarmes were injured, two of whom were hospitalized, announced the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine, Emmanuel Berthier.
Two participants were also injured, one of whom lost the use of his hand.
The prefect announced that an investigation had been opened under the authority of the prefect of Rennes.

Calm has returned
" after "
more than 7 hours of clashes

extremely violent clashes
", but several hundred "
revelers
" were still present on Saturday morning.
The national gendarmerie confirmed in a tweet that an operation was "
in progress
" following the attempted installation of a Teknival, and indicates that "
more than 400 gendarmes
" are engaged "
to put an end to the disturbances
".
According to the prefecture, the revelers tried to set up the rave party on the Redon racecourse.
Tribute to Steve Maia Caniço
The rave party was to pay tribute to Steve Maia Caniço, a 24-year-old young man missing in Nantes on the night of June 21 to 22, 2019 and whose body was found a month later.
He participated in the Fête de la musique and was present during a police intervention near the river quays.
According to the authorities, interviewed by AFP, "
the police [faced] very violent individuals and [wiped] jets of molotov cocktails, petanque balls, pieces of cinder block
", indicates the prefecture on Twitter.
On the same social network, journalists present on the spot published several videos of the scenes of violence.

” the prefecture told AFP on Saturday morning. Friday, the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine had issued a prohibition order fearing that a "
festive musical gathering of the teknival or rave-party type

" in the department. This decree is valid until Monday 8:00 am.
