The delegation of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry discussed with the head and members of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry ways to enhance economic, industrial and commercial relations between the two sides by increasing trade exchange and overcoming difficulties to facilitate the movement of goods, providing customs exemptions for industrialists and traders, and holding joint exhibitions in the Syrian and Iraqi cities and governorates.

Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh indicated, in a speech, the necessity of consolidating industrial and commercial relations between the two brotherly countries, achieving common interests, exchanging experiences, and moving towards a strategy that serves the industrialists.

The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz al-Khabbaz, explained the necessity of advancing the industrial situation in the two countries by working to achieve integration and balance for the industry and its settlement and increase trade exchange, noting the need to benefit from the industrial expertise of the city of Aleppo and cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical and textile industries, leather industry, veterinary medicines and agricultural pesticides, expressing readiness to provide facilities Necessary to increase trade flow between the two sides.

In turn, Eng. Faris Al-Shihabi, President of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, spoke about the importance of Iraq to Syria as a strategic economic depth in the industrial and commercial fields, expressing the two sides' efforts to establish an economic partnership and a common market and to form an economic force in the region through hard work to sign a protocol between the two sides to activate trade exchange and establish joint investments to face challenges The largest regional and international economy.

A number of industrialists and businessmen stressed the necessity of holding exhibitions between the two countries, exchanging visits and industrial and commercial delegations, overcoming difficulties related to entry features, exemption from customs duties, and activating cooperation in the fields of pharmaceutical, textile and manufacturing industries.

The meeting was attended by the Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab and the Secretary of the Aleppo branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party Ahmed Mansour and Adel Al-Oqab, head of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Industry.

After that, the delegation of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry visited the industrial city in Sheikh Najjar and was briefed on the work and production of a number of its industrial facilities, including textile, paper and carpet industries, and listened to an explanation about the facilities and advantages offered for investment in it.
