The General Company for Building and Reconstruction is implementing the last stages of the educational complex project in Jaramana, rural Damascus, with the completion rate of civil and architectural works reaching more than 95 percent and the preparation stage to 70 percent. It is expected that the project will be delivered within the next four months, with a total value of up to 4.5 billion Syrian pounds. Syrian.
SANA monitored the work on the project, where the director of the southern region branch of the company, Eng. Kamal Hassan, explained that the project contract was launched in May 2017, with a value of 2.300 billion Syrian pounds, and it consists of four blocks that include an administrative building to manage the educational complex, three schools, and each school has 30 classrooms with an area 50 square meters per hall.
According to Hassan, the project is located on an area of 21 thousand square meters, including basalt yards and gardens of up to 8 thousand square meters, while the floor area for each floor of the blocks is 1600 square meters.
Hassan pointed out that the complex was designed and implemented according to international standards and the latest specifications, indicating that the current stage is the finishing stage, and the company is working to overcome all obstacles to complete the project and invest it during the next year.
The project manager, Engineer Fadi Hajjo, indicated that the project’s location is strategic because it is at the entrance to the city of Jaramana and came in response to the large number of students in it, pointing out that the three school buildings consist of a basement that contains storage for books, a burner room and boilers that provide the school with a central heating system, in addition to the presence of solar panels and three floors. Each of them includes ten classrooms with an area of 50 square meters per row, in addition to two laboratories on each floor, ie an average of six laboratories for each building, two for chemistry, two for physics, and two for computers.
As for the administrative building, it includes, according to Hajjo, administrative office rooms, a small laboratory, a reading room, and a 600-square-meter gym equipped with the best equipment.
From the work site, Eng. Saeed Hammad stated that the project works are being carried out according to the technical specifications laid down and approved the best types of cladding, pointing out that there is a complete fire alarm system consisting of a metal cabinet, a hose and an ejector, in addition to six sockets distributed in the public site, where two external sockets were placed in each school, as well as Extinguishing nozzles placed inside.
The head of the supervisory body in the project, Engineer Nariman Nasser, indicated that the last amendment to add another floor requires a re-examination by the studies company and the issuance of new plans for the project and the addition of a contract annex, which caused the delay in work and implementation, which was remedied in cooperation with the implementing agency.
