The Nicaraguan Football Federation (Fenifut) reported this Friday that it imposed sanctions on 27 people, including players, technical personnel and others called "external characters", due to their alleged involvement in different cases of "manipulation and match fixing »at the national level.
Those sanctioned, including 19 players from the first and second professional divisions, as well as a coach and a prop, "are prohibited from participating in any activity related to federated and organized football directly or indirectly," explained Fenifut it's a statement.
He added that they will not be able to "have a sports relationship with all the clubs and footballers affiliated" to the Federation.
Among those sanctioned, at least 10 were disabled for life.
Although Fenifut did not give details of the accusations, it did say in the statement that the facts were verified by means of testimonies, documents and videos, and that those allegedly involved “have benefited financially from their actions and have violated sportsmanship and fairness. competence".
