That was unexpected: the community of Neubiberg can look forward to significantly more business tax income.

Two projects in particular benefit from this.

Neubiberg

- When financial projections change so positively, nobody has anything against it.

This is what happened in the meeting of the main and finance committee of the Neubiberger municipal council.

Treasurer Fabian Leininger has calculated that trade tax revenues will rise from 6.5 million euros to a whopping 26 million euros.

The positive consequence of this unexpected development: the planned supplementary budget for 2021 should include around 100,000 euros in additional planning costs.

For two projects classified as extremely important in the municipality.

According to the recommendation of the committee to the municipal council, 50,000 euros each should flow into further planning for the senior center to be expanded at Hauptstrasse 12 and towards a digital master plan for the community of Neubiberg.

Senior center suddenly up to date again

Seniors in particular should be pleased with the amendment. This is making progress on a project that was postponed months ago by at least four years, mainly due to the corona. Now the project for an extension and the barrier-free expansion is picking up speed again faster than expected. In its meeting on Monday, June 21 (7 p.m., primary school hall), the municipal council still has to approve the requirement, but after unanimous joy about the financial development in the committee, this should be a sure-fire success.

Leininger's figures are convincing.

The first budget calculation at the end of 2020 was still based on a healthy minus of around 6.4 million euros in the administrative budget.

Holes that should have been filled from the community's reserves and cash.

But now Leininger is planning a surplus of around 11.2 million euros in this sector, giving the councils and the administration more legroom for investments.

Reserves are also recovering

In this context, his assessment that the reserves will develop just as positively over the coming years is also positive.

An important aspect, especially with a view to the large-scale community center project on Rathausplatz.

The councils were all in a happy mood.

"A very positive result," said SPD parliamentary group leader Elisabeth Gerner.

She was particularly pleased that the recent proposal by the Social Democrats with the Free Voters to promote the senior citizens' center in a timely manner was taken into account by the positive financial development.

Finance advisor Hartmut Lilge blamed the “careful and prudent planning in times of crisis” for the improved development.

If the council approves on Monday, the senior center and improved digitization will pick up speed.
