We go to the sea and the pool to catch a cold, buy good ice cream to catch a cold, look for activities indoors to catch a cold. But what do you do inside the house? Turn on the air conditioner of course. But here it turns out, that with a few simple design tricks, it is possible to create a refreshing, fun and fresh summer-inspired feeling.

This is how you will bring all the goodness of summer home and leave the heat and sweat outside without spending a lot of money:

1. Light and a lot of it

First of all, to get a summery feeling, put as much natural light into the house as possible. While sun is rich in vitamin D and thus contributes to our physical health, it also produces a sense of freedom and fun and even elevates the mood.

How do you do that?

Curtains and rugs can be easily removed and stored, especially those that are both heavy and dark.

These temporary concessions will do a good job of flapping the space and make you feel cool and pleasant.

"In my opinion, the connection to nature outside creates both inner peace and health for body and soul," says Lilach Morber, who owns an office for design, interior architecture and styling.

2. White on white:

Many of us are used to painting the walls for Passover and Rosh Hashanah.

But, it is possible and desirable to refresh the house from time to time, even towards the summer, by painting the walls in clean and airy white, which symbolizes new beginnings.

In white there is also a fresh glow but also softness and calm.

It can be very dominant and at the same time also produce a sense of space and cleanliness.

How do you do that?

When choosing to paint in white and to give the house an interest and personal touch, it is possible to combine white walls and walls where white is gently combined in other shades.

The white can be further accentuated by using dark or colored furniture, or go for the uniformity of white furniture.

"White is a world in its entirety," explains Limor Morber, the founder and designer of Fine Lab. "It blends in with everything and is associated with summer, freedom, the sea, nature, cleanliness and simplicity."

Even the dog is white.

Go on holiday on the terrace:

It does not matter if you live in a house with a garden or in an apartment with or without a balcony, an atmosphere of celebration can be created anywhere.

What’s important, is to produce a sense of flow and lightness and even go on a picnic right indoors.

Such an activity, plus a tent that is even made of sheets, will entertain and do a lot of good for the kids as well.

Even a straw decorated with a small paper pineapple in a cocktail glass can make all the difference.

Choose a corner and incorporate mats, low tables, stools, beanbags or cushions and effortless serving utensils.

You can also, right with your own hands, attach a narrow and elevated bar to the balcony railing, add bar stools to it and just sit for happy hour and watch the passers-by.

4. Hospitality atmosphere:

During the summer, and especially because of the great freedom, there is often a promenade atmosphere in the house.

Children come and go, parents more at home, neighbors come in.

Cook, improvise, open a table.

Turn that into a celebration too.

How do you do that?

Combine a colorful tablecloth on the table.

To the serving utensils you have, add colored utensils.

Melamine utensils always create a light and happy atmosphere.

Place on the table baskets with summer fruits that are both beautiful, both colorful, both smell wonderful and delicious.

5. When nature comes to visit:

In the summer, we are so used to sealing the houses that "the cold air does not come out" that we forget a little about what is happening outside.

It is important and worthwhile to bring home a natural look that contributes to calmness and mood.

How do you do that?

"In the spring and summer, you can enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the house plants grow," says Rinat Tal, owner of Sokolina - designing spaces with plants.

"To help them, place the plants in the brightest corner of the house but not next to the window or under direct sunlight. In addition, if the house is closed and air conditioned, be careful not to put plants directly in front of the cold, dry air of the air conditioner."

"Another easy way to add green to the corners of the house is to arrange plant branches in transparent containers. If they take root, you can make them a new plant, but even if they are not - they may last at least a few weeks!"

6. Waves Waves:

Thank God you can already go to the sea.

But why not create an atmosphere of sea and beach at home as well?

In the sea and its natural environment there is so much beauty that one can, really easily, get into the house inside.

How do you do that?

You can start by collecting materials such as planks, shells and shells that have been swept ashore, and attach sea sand, fishing nets, ropes, oars and straw items to them.

You can, for example, make candle stands by placing the candle in the sand in a glass vessel or displaying beautiful shells in a clear jar or on a tray.

7. Present good memories: It

is still not clear exactly when and where we will be able to travel this summer. So why not remember some magical destinations we have already visited or dreamy destinations that we still want to reach? A pleasant feeling of summer and freedom can be created through an art gallery created at home that will surprise guests and create a topic of conversation and who knows? Maybe encourage us to plan our next vacation.

How do you do that?

It's time to take out souvenirs from trips we once did. Search your cell phone, sort and choose family photos or landscape photos from trips that bring back particularly good memories. These are printed and enlarged, framed and hung on the wall. You can also find maps of favorite places and framing. And this too is a really fun activity to do with the kids.

8. Smell the summer:

Home fragrances and scents will carry you on the waves of the imagination and will greatly affect your emotional and spiritual aspect.

They will connect you to wonderful memories and produce calming and relaxing hormones in you.

Light, pleasant, floral and fresh fragrances can be easily produced if you use atmospheric perfumes, essential oils, air fresheners, scent diffusers, natural stones combined with extract treatment, incense, candles, spray, detergents and much more.

How do you do that?

Nice to incorporate bouquets or even fruit trays at home, but you can also go for the good old method.

"It's fun to light candles after a day of work," they say in the candleroom.

9. Most Thailand:

Think of a coconut tree, a cool breeze that entertains your hair, maximum calmness and a pleasant sound of waves.

If you close your eyes while swinging on a swing or hammock right in your home, you can get really similar feelings that will contribute to relieving your stress from a long day or just give you a moment of escape from the surrounding chaos.

How do you do that?

There are lots of types of swings and designed hammocks that can be hung right indoors, in any of the rooms and even in the living room or balcony.

The swing will produce a more playful and active effect and will suit children of all ages while the hammock is more enveloping and relaxed and can also be used as an alternative option for a nap.

10. Always share the celebration with the children:

In any change in the house it is worth sharing the children as well.

That way they will also feel important and involved and also give them a break from the screens and draw them to an interesting activity for the whole family.

How do you do that?

You can literally paint the room together or apply summer themes using wall decals.

You can refresh the textiles of the room with a colorful rug, bedspread or the addition of decorative pillows in fruit or ice cream colors and you can pamper them with decorative items that will contribute to a cool and pleasant feeling in the room.

In addition, it is possible to refresh the children's dishes with plates, cups and cutlery made of colorful melamine and evokes a smile.
