The Schwabe family wants to offer more than 40 rooms in the future in order to remain sustainable.

The municipal council discussed the expansion plans for the four-star organic hotel Schlossgut Oberambach.

Münsing - For the first time, the Münsingen municipal council had not identified any points of criticism of the Schwabe family's expansion plans for their four-star organic hotel Schlossgut Oberambach. For a long time, managing director Maximilian Schwabe has wanted to offer more than the current 40 rooms in order to remain sustainable. "We want to keep the hotel and the jobs of our employees, so we have to expand," Schwabe said in the council meeting on Tuesday. The hotel and restaurant association Dehoga considers at least 60 beds to be profitable.

Four years ago, some local councils did not like the plans for a new building southeast of the main building.

The encroachment on the beautiful landscape above Lake Starnberg seemed too big for them.

Now Uwe Mertens from the Tölz office “manuplan - architecture for individual living spaces” has developed a new concept.

As part of a so-called informal request, he and Schwabe presented it to the council.

Four-star organic hotel Schlossgut Oberambach wants to build ecologically

Following the relatively newly built vitality center in the south-east, an L-shaped ward block with a view of the lake is to be added. The new reception will also be located in the building. The parking spaces would have to be moved a bit. “It goes without saying,” explained Uwe Mertens, that wood and other natural materials will be built ecologically. Take up the wooden facade and architecture of the existing, old coach house on the site. The new building should be lower than this. The rooms should be accessible and equipped with barrier-free access.

The moderate expansion, developed in consultation with the architect Christian Weigl, who created the master plan for the lakeshore, met with everyone's approval. “All of our suggestions from the scoping event were implemented,” said a delighted Christine Mair from the Greens. Ursula Scriba (list of citizens) welcomed the fact that the new building fits harmoniously into the listed ensemble. Susanne Huber (Free Voters), chairwoman of the local tourism association, believes: “Schlossgut Oberambach is good for tourism. It is a figurehead for the entire region. ”Stefan Holzheu (Holzhausen voter group) appreciates that“ we are investing here in times of Corona ”. A change in the development plan is necessary for the new building. The hiking trails, which now lead directly over the property, are to be diverted around the property.
