Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashichi announced today a comprehensive quarantine and the closure of the states that are witnessing a large spread of the new Corona virus, calling for the intensification of the extensive field vaccination campaigns in the country.
Tunisian media quoted the Presidency of the Government as saying in a statement tonight that Al-Mashichi decided, starting tomorrow, to announce a comprehensive quarantine and close the states that record cases of spread of the virus, explaining that the decision came following the development of the epidemiological situation in Kairouan.
The Tunisian government also decided to establish isolation centers for infected cases and field hospitals to take care of cases detected at an early stage, in addition to strengthening the first-line structures for early care of cases and ensuring access to oxygen supply, as well as organizing intensive field campaigns to investigate suspected cases, isolate positive cases and contacts, in addition to strengthening laboratories capabilities and intensifying genetic cutting. To identify the circulating strains and to identify the mutated strains, if any.
According to the latest statistics of the Tunisian Ministry of Health, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has so far reached 381,175, and the total number of deaths has reached 13,960.
