Saturday's thunderstorms caused damage in their path, especially in Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil where a tornado swept away the church tower, or in Alfortville and Ile-de-France, with torn roofs and flooding .

Barely after these disturbances, a new stormy sequence is announced this Sunday, further east of the country this time.

This morning, Météo-France placed 22 departments on orange vigilance for thunderstorms, and only one (the Rhône) on orange vigilance for heatwaves.

These thunderstorms should be particularly windy, with gusts that can again locally exceed 100 km / h, or even be accompanied in places by vortex phenomena, indicates the forecaster.

They will give intense rains in their passage, between 20 and 50mm in a short time, which can therefore locally cause urban flooding and runoff, as well as hailstorms, with marked electrical activity.

Elsewhere, some showers occur but spare Normandy, Île-de-France as far as Hauts-de-France.

In the afternoon, the Mediterranean rim and Aquitaine remain under the threat of some showers while in Upper Normandy and Hauts-de-France, the weather is drier with cloudy skies.

The other regions are exposed to the risk of thunderstorms, strong in places.

The windy character is added to this agitated weather with strong gusts near the coast of Languedoc-Roussillon, then from midday, in the Rhône valley, where under the strongest storms, 100 km / h can be exceeded. .

Minimum temperatures range from 12 to 16 degrees in the North West, 14 to 19 in general elsewhere, around 20/21 in Alsace, the Rhône valley and up to 23 on the Mediterranean coast.

The maximums are dropping. At the best of the day, the mercury still reached 28 to 31 degrees in the Alsace plain, lower Rhône valley, up to 34/35 locally on the coast of Corsica. Elsewhere, the drop is noticeable, it is 18 to 21 degrees in the North-West and the Channel coasts, 22 to 26 in the North in New Aquitaine.
