"Hope You Hold On": The letter sent by the intelligence officer's mother after he was arrested

In the first days of his arrest, when he could not be spoken to, the officer's mother sent him a letter expressing her support and asking for his encouragement: "Hope it ends quickly and you can forget about everything that happened."

The mother detailed to her son about the defense attorney whom the family hired to represent them, and described their difficult feelings: "They are in the dark and overwhelmed."

A letter that the mother of the intelligence officer who died in prison wrote to him in the first days of his arrest, when it was not possible to meet with him, was published today (Sunday) on social media.

In her words, the officer's mother expresses her support and seeks to encourage his spirit: "Be strong, and hope it will end really quickly and you will be able to forget everything that happened."

The mother detailed in her letter to Lt. Col. Benny Kuznitz that the family hired him as a defense attorney, and wrote "We hope he will continue to fight for you and represent your legal rights to the best of your ability."

She further described the feelings of the family: "We are in the dark and shocked by the situation (...) and we hope they will release you as soon as possible to come back to us for the schnitzel meals. We strengthen you and are sure you will get out of the situation well and understand they were wrong about it."

The officer's mother added that with the help of Adv. Kuznitz, they would clarify "to anyone who doubts that you are a good son and an excellent soldier," and said that he received certificates of excellence and his commanders complimented them on "the successful and lucky son who fell for them." To testify in the officer's favor.

The military prosecutor and attorney Kuznitz not reached an agreement on the publication of additional personal information and the offenses attributed to him. Accordingly, required the President of the Court of Appeal General Doron Fiilis hold further discussion on the subject. According to estimates of military officials, the decision on the subject will be made next week.

Also, according to Military officials, tests from the officer's autopsy so far have not yielded unequivocal findings about the circumstances of his death in prison. And additional processes performed after autopsy will be summarized in the next two weeks.

Army sources further say that within a few weeks the prosecution will present the opinion on the circumstances of his death and the chain of events in the jail, before the officer is located in his cell when he convulses and loses consciousness, before being taken to hospital.

Sources in the IDF say that the atmosphere in the military police is difficult and they are preparing for dismissals and accusations beyond the confines of the new military prison.
