Nigerian authorities announced today that they have found the bodies of three children kidnapped along with dozens of others from a school in the northwest of the country.
Reuters quoted the director of the Federal Government College in the remote town of Birnin Yuri in Kebbi State as saying that "unidentified gunmen kidnapped a number of students and staff from a school this week," noting that the bodies of two girls and a boy had been found with gunshot wounds.
He added that nine of the kidnappers managed to escape, noting that the kidnappers used the students' phones to pressure their families and demand ransom.
The northwestern regions of Nigeria are witnessing a state of instability due to the kidnappings carried out by unknown armed men, in addition to the attacks in the east of the country since 2009 by the terrorists of the “Boko Haram” group and the “ISIS” organization, which led to the killing of about 36,000 people and the displacement of millions .
