Christian Kessler: "Why Japan thought it was unique in the face of Covid"

TRIBUNE - The slowness of vaccination in Japan, while the Olympic Games are due to start on July 23, has multiple and instructive causes, explains the historian *, professor on secondment at the French Athenaeum in Tokyo and teacher at Musashi University.


Japan's delay in vaccination is obvious.

As of June 9, just 1.2% of the population was fully vaccinated, placing the country dead last among industrialized countries.
