The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, discussed this evening with the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the industrial sector, establish joint investments, enhance trade exchange for industrial products, and increase coordination to reach a kind of integration in the two economies, which contributes to protecting common interests and increasing Growth rates in Syria and Iraq.

Arnous clarified that Syria possesses the capabilities, infrastructure, regions, industrial cities and the appropriate environment and provides the necessary facilities for establishing investments in all its forms, stressing readiness to take all measures that push relations forward at all levels and the need to form specialized committees from both sides to develop work and joint cooperation.

The Prime Minister pointed out the need to enhance road transport between Syria and Iraq, facilitate the flow of goods and cars loaded with necessary industrial and food products to their markets, activate the exchange of goods and the importance of enhancing the role of economic and commercial activities in the process of trade exchange and establishing joint projects, stressing the follow-up to the agreements and cooperation formulas that are reached. joint and put in place appropriate operational mechanisms.

For his part, the Iraqi minister stressed the need to start industrial cooperation and establish contact points between the ministries of industry in Syria and Iraq, and his country's readiness to solve all difficulties in cooperation and trade exchange, in addition to providing facilities in terms of entry, expressing his hope for concluding an industrial agreement that would contribute to achieving a state of economic integration between the two countries. .

The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh and Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Khader.
