The Lenggries mountain rescue service had to cope with a challenging mission.

A mountain biker found himself in a life-threatening situation on Sagrinnenköpfl (municipality of Jachenau).

Jachenau - As Bergwacht press spokeswoman Lina Feile reports, the mountain biker was out on the Sagrinnenköpfl in Jachenau on Thursday evening and on his tour reached a steep terrain at risk of falling, in which he could no longer move unsecured in the dark.

Around 8 p.m., the athlete made the emergency call.

The emergency services located him via a sent SMS and were able to determine the location of the mountain biker to within a few meters.

In order to get there, the rescuers had to secure themselves on the rope again and again so as not to put themselves in danger, reports Feile.

In the meantime, another team with additional equipment was alerted because the condition of the Munich resident was still unclear with regard to the removal.

However, he was unharmed, as it turned out on site.

The man was secured on a short rope and dismounted with the rescuers.

The volunteers also brought the bike down into the valley.

A first responder from the Jachenau fire brigade who happened to be free and an emergency paramedic supported the mountain rescue ambulance in checking the patient, but the athlete was unharmed.

The mission ended around midnight.
