2021-06-25T12:35:34.676Z

According to the first estimates, Laurent Pietraszewski and the four ministers who present themselves with him did not cross the threshold of 10% of the votes cast to stay in the second round.

The finding is heavy for the presidential majority.

In the first round of regional meetings in Hauts-de-France, which took place this Sunday, June 20, 2021, the first Ifop-Fiducial estimates for

Le Figaro

and LCI indicate that the Secretary of State for Pensions and Health at work, Laurent Pietraszewski, did not cross the symbolic bar of 10% of votes cast.

With 9.1% of the vote, the LREM list would fail to qualify for the second round.

The LREM candidacy is thus preceded by the union list of the left (EELV / PS / PCF / LFI) led by Karima Delli (18.4%), as well as by the candidate of the National Rally, Sébastien Chenu (24% ).

The outgoing ex-LR president Xavier Bertrand arrives for his part largely in the lead (42.5%).

The region also has a high abstention rate of 68.1%.

The Walkers, who already saw themselves as kingmakers, will therefore not weigh as much as they hoped following the ballot, scheduled for next Sunday.

This considerably complicates their enterprise of destabilizing Xavier Bertrand, declared presidential candidate of 2022 and potential opponent of Emmanuel Macron.

However, many ministers were sent to this region, such as Gérald Darmanin (Interior), Alain Griset (Small and Medium-sized enterprises) and Agnès Pannier-Runacher (Industry).

Above all, the Keeper of the Seals Eric Dupond-Moretti, head of the list in the Pas-de-Calais, had signed a remarkable campaign arrival by claiming to want to "

drive

" the "

National Front

" from these lands.

The rest of the ballot now promises to be tight.

It is a question of knowing under what configuration will take place the second round: a triangular, between Xavier Bertrand (ex-LR), Sébastien Chenu (RN) and Karima Delli (EELV / PS / PCF / LFI)?

Or a duel between the outgoing ex-LR president and the candidate of the National Rally, if the left withdraws, as was the case in 2015?
