Regional elections: how we voted in Ile-de-France

2021-06-25T19:52:15.311Z

From Seine-Saint-Denis to Yvelines, here are the first lessons of the first round this Sunday at 11:30 p.m., while all the polls do not

Before going to the vote department by department, it should be noted in the preamble that the abstention rate in Ile-de-France for this first round of regional elections is 67.5%.

Seine-Saint-Denis

This is the obstacle decidedly difficult to overcome for Valérie Pécresse, who had made only 32.8% in 2015, against 52.8% to his rival PS, the former president of the departmental council of Seine-Saint- Denis Claude Bartolone.

This time again, Seine-Saint-Denis votes very little but rallies on the left.

Four out of five voters did not come, and those who did voted mostly in the same direction as their departmental vote.

From Bobigny to Pierrefitte-sur-Seine via Stains, in view of the very first results, Seine-Saint-Denis is rather resisting in its anchoring on the left, and places Clémentine Autain in the lead in many municipalities.

In Bobigny for example, the LFI candidate exceeds the outgoing president by almost 7 points, 27.31% against 20.5%. Audrey Pulvar arrives there in third position (16.89%), ahead of the 11.5% of the RN candidate. Same picture at Stains, where Clémentine Autain holds the lead far ahead of Valérie Pécresse, with 30% of the votes against 21%. It is from Clichy-sous-Bois that the relative surprise comes, with 22‚5% of the votes for the outgoing president, while Audrey Pulvar and RN Bardella follow far but follow each other closely, with respectively 16.5% and 15%. In the light of these very partial results, it is not this year that Seine-Saint-Denis will appoint a right-wing president. Despite these sometimes extreme disparities from one city to another in the region traditionally the most abstinent in Île-de-France,at the end of the evening Valérie Pécresse gathered 42.28% of the votes, out of 40% of ballots counted. RN Jordan Bardella (15.4%), Laurent Saint-Martin (13.28%) and Julien Bayou (11.9%) followed

Val d'Oise

It is neither a comfortable stronghold nor a hostile ground for the outgoing president, who had won the region in 2015, with 40.37% of the vote against 40.20% to Claude Bartolone. The first round can give confidence to Valérie Pécresse, in view of the partial results of this first round, with 36.5% of the votes, but the surprise comes from the RN: he offers himself a second position at nearly 20% (19, 9%), while the ecologist Julien Bayou and Laurent Saint-Martin are neck and neck with 11%. Drawn on 30% of the bulletins, this trend gives a comfortable lead to Valérie Pécresse but also an entry to the RN. The trend was confirmed and refined without large differences at the end of the evening, on the basis of 46% of the bulletins, with 36.06% for Valérie Pécresse, followed by Jordan Bardella at 19.07%, Laurent Saint-Martin (10 ,77%) and Julien Bayou (9.95%)

Seine et Marne

In the department of Seine-et-Marne, the RN hoped to come out on top of the 1st round, as in 2015, where he won 30.9% of the vote. The electorate of this department of the outer suburbs overwhelmingly abstained, and according to non-final results, Jordan Bardella (RN) does not repeat this performance. With about 22.13%, her list ends far behind that of outgoing president Valérie Pécresse (36.08%) (Free!). The head of the RN list in the 77, Aymeric Durox, leans behind that led by Valérie Lacroute, mayor of Nemours (LR) and ally of Valérie Pécresse. The LREM candidate, Laurent Saint-Martin, represented by the mayor of Melun, Louis Vogel (Agir), gathers 9.31% of the votes. A slightly lower score than that of Julien Bayou (EELV) (9.42%) and Audrey Pulvar (PS) (9.99%). Clémentine Autain (LFI) comes behind, with 8,2% of the vote.

Paris

In the capital, where abstention reached its peaks, the headliners of the various formations spent a stressful evening. According to estimates of 97% of the votes, Valérie Pécresse is well ahead. The outgoing president (32.9%) can savor her score in the stronghold of Anne Hidalgo (PS), where her candidate Audrey Pulvar achieves a poor performance (12.8%). The former journalist is preceded by the ecologist Julien Bayou (17.9%), who comes out in a strong position in this first round. This is a jump compared to the score of Emmanuelle Cosse in 2015 in Paris (10.9%). Laurent Saint-Martin (LREM), represented in Paris by Marlène Schiappa, climbs to third place (14%). Sophia Chikirou, who wore the colors of rebellious France in Paris on behalf of Clémentine Autain, garners around 11.7% of the vote.Jordan Bardella comes behind with 7.8% of the vote. A score lower than that of his party in 2015 in Paris (9.6%).

Hauts-de-Seine

After the counting of 47% of the votes cast in the Hauts-de-Seine, the Île-de-France list gathered by Valérie Pécresse comes far ahead in the department, with 40.61%.

The outgoing president is doing even better than in 2015, even though she had won nearly 40% of the votes in the last regional ones.

It is the list of the candidate of the presidential majority, Laurent Saint-Martin, which is placed in second position, far behind Valérie Pécresse, with 13.92% of the vote.

The latter is in a pocket square with the environmentalist list of Julien Bayou, in third position with 13.56%.

Jordan Bardella's RN is down sharply: only 9.39%, behind Audrey Pulvar (9.31%) and Clémentine Autain (8.73%).

The far-right list had collected 12% of the votes in the Hauts-de-Seine in 2015.

Yvelines

Valérie Pécresse on velvet?

This is what is looming, against the backdrop of a record abstention in a right-wing bastion department.

While participation in the 2015 ballot had reached 40.16% in Yvelines.

The former MP for Yvelines easily won the region in 2015, with 51.4%.

It should benefit from the double advantage of the outgoing bonus and a land conquered from the Republican right.

At the end of the evening, on a partial count of 40% of the ballots, Valérie Pécresse comfortably holds the head with 42.28% of the votes, far ahead of Jordan Bardella (15.4%) and Laurent Saint-Martin (13.4%) .

For the latter, it is a 3rd place suitable to relativize the overall failure inflicted on the presidential majority, two points ahead of Julien Bayou.

Val de Marne

The first partial results seem to indicate that the list of union of the right led by Valérie Pécresse arrives in first position in Val-de-Marne with 36.45% of the votes.

The outgoing president has a large lead over her competitors and is doing better in the department than in 2015 (28.49% in the last regional).

The list of the macronist candidate Laurent Saint-Martin comes in second position, credited with 12.79%, neck-to-neck with environmentalists and their candidate Julien Bayou, third with 12.67% of the vote.

Jordan Bardella's RN list, credited with 12.06%, did less well than the 2015 FN list (more than 16% of the vote at the time).

Audrey Pulvar's PS list comes in fifth with 11.29%.

Essonne

Already in the lead at the end of the first round in 2015, the list led by Valérie Pécresse comes in first position in Essonne with 33.94% after the counting of 47% of the ballots cast. Jordan Bardella's RN (18.84%) comes in second, even if the far-right party is down slightly compared to the last election (22% in 2015). The environmentalist list led by Julien Bayou would take third place with 11.89% of the vote, ahead of the other leftist lists of Audrey Pulvar (10.68%) and Clémentine Autain (8.85%). Environmentalists are making an interesting increase compared to 2015 (+ 4%). The list of the presidential majority candidate, Laurent Saint-Martin, who would come in fourth position, credited with 11.21%.
