Twist - After a car accident, a man in Lower Saxony simply left his three-year-old daughter in the crashed car.
The slightly injured child was handed over to first aiders near the accident site in Twist in the Emsland district, according to a police spokeswoman on Monday.

A 31-year-old, who, according to the police, is the girl's father, and a 38-year-old man initially fled on Sunday evening after the accident.
They were later found in a major search operation.
The car of the three occupants had previously drifted off the road for an as yet unexplained cause.
It ran over a delineator post and collided with trees.
The men freed the girl from the wreck and left her with the helpers nearby.
The girl was admitted to hospital with minor injuries.
Why the men left the child behind is still unclear.
