Miesbach - The roof of the civil servants' house next to the Miesbach town hall is to be renovated.

It should not only get a new roof, but also a new apartment.

A prerequisite for the new living space is to expand a storage facility under the roof.

The city council recently approved the review of this project.

An audit showed that the roof needs some renovation. During repairs in the past decades, different, non-interlocking roof panels were installed. And that had far-reaching consequences: the cracks created in this way could no longer completely prevent rainwater and meltwater from entering - water penetrated. In addition, the eaves sheet metal in the area of the snow guard is partially porous. The necessary renovation is planned.

At the suggestion of CSU City Councilor Erhard Pohl, the property was also inspected.

The background to this was that he saw the possibility of accommodating another apartment there, which the city could also rent out.

In the same meeting, Pohl stated that this is a good thing with a view to the need for living space in the district town.

Building advisor Manfred Burger (Greens) was also on the tour and thinks the idea is good.

There are currently seven residential units in the official building - two on each floor plus one under the roof.

The second is to be built next door if the feasibility study is positive.

Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU) is also positive about the project: "This is a sensible round that we should do." Pohl also thinks the test makes sense.

After all, “a great apartment” with 60 to 70 square meters plus a gallery could be created.
